Local Horses is a book of photographs that depict horses of the most improbable colors, in and around greater Los Angeles. Stenciled off of organic, animal reality, but assembled and printed using digital tools, the book collides the documentary and the fantastical.
The book was first exhibited in the installation Local Horses Lounge at Circus Gallery in Los Angeles in 2008. Copies of the book include a postcard invite to the show with a color photograph.
32 pages. Glue bound. Brown imitation leather cover with gold foil stamp. First printing of fifty copies, signed and numbered, 2008.
A handful of copies are still available for purchase for $50 at Printed Matter in New York.
